Fox Squash Blossom

$0.00

Private Collection Release

27 in. length, 20 cts. Black Web Fox Turquoise.

Offered from a private collector’s inventory, this Sterling Silver Traditional Squash Blossom features vintage Black Web Fox Turquoise and embodies traditional Dinè silversmithing.

Each bead (also known as “Navajo pearls”) is individually hand-formed, soldered, sanded, and polished—a process that can require many days of focused labor to complete a single strand. The twelve “blossoms” feature hand carved Diné cloud designs and represent the twelve Diné deities and their presence among us in the forms of the elements such as Fire, Rain, Wind etc.

The Naja pendant is tufa cast, created from porous volcanic stone, into which molten silver is poured. The process allows no room for error and produces a singular work of art, bearing the natural texture and spirit of the stone itself. The crescent shape represents balance between male and female energies. To honor Bo’s additional Mouache Kaputa (Utè) background, a plain’s feather was placed on the bale.

The Fox mine, located in Nevada, is no longer in production. A popular collector stone due to its historical significance and beautiful apple colors, the mine’s geological makeup did not often produce the natural black “webbing” in such stones and, therefore, is considered exceptionally rare.

Awarded “Best of Show” at the Western Design Conference in Jackson Hole, WY, this exceptional piece also appeared on Billboard Magazine’s Grammy Edition cover, worn by country music artist Shaboozey.

A rare opportunity to acquire an award-winning work of wearable art—a piece that reflects the immense time, dedication, and ancestral knowledge inherent in Dinè silverwork.
